Altar Serving is not just a service but a prayerful celebration of Jesus Christ.

The Altar Server Ministry is a very special group of young people in our parish who have answered God’s call to ministry.  As an Altar Server, you are one of the liturgical ministers with an important role during the Mass or during other liturgical services.  It is a privilege to assist the priest at the altar and help the church community worship in the best possible way.

We look forward to your joining us to serve God and the church family.
God Bless our servers and their families!

How to Serve:

Altar Serving is open to all members of the St. Louise Parish community grades 5 and above.  If you are interested in becoming a server, contact our scheduler at altarserveradmin@stlouise.org. There are several materials available on this site to provide you with additional information.

  • Altar Servers serve at all Masses including Saturdays at the 5 PM Mass and Sundays at the 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 11 AM and 6 PM Masses, as well as special liturgical celebrations and funerals. Servers are put on a monthly schedule based on their Mass preference. They should expect to commit to serving minimum of two hours per month which includes at least one Sunday Mass each month as assigned. The Scheduler notifies the Altar Servers of additional service opportunities as they arise. To join this group, you must attend Altar Server training, which is held annually in October/November or as needed by appointment. Contact the Scheduler for the date(s).
  • The Altar Server Captain is a Server responsible for sending weekly schedule reminders to the Altar Servers. If you are an Altar Server and are interested in becoming an Altar Server Captain, let the Scheduler know.
  • The Scheduler is an adult volunteer who orchestrates the monthly altar serving schedule. The Scheduler serves for at least one year and is guided by a Scheduler’s Manual which she/he keeps up to date. If you are interested in this position, contact the current Scheduler.
