This Friday the Archdiocese of Seattle will join in solidarity with Archbishop Gomez, President of the USCCB, and the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops as they renew the consecrations of the U.S. and Canada in the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This spiritual reconsecration is an expression of our filial desire for the Blessed Mother’s protection, intercession and guidance, in our struggle against COVID-19.
Together, in the Local Church and with the Church in North America, we will pray for Our Lady’s special protection of the vulnerable, healing of those who are sick, and wisdom for those who work to alleviate this pandemic.
On Friday, you are encouraged to join this collective prayer at Noon. You are invited to participate by praying to Our Lady and asking her for the renewal of your parish. During this collective prayer, the Bishops of North America will be reconsecrating their dioceses, priests are asked to consecrate their parishes and individuals can consecrate their households. The specific prayers for priests to consecrate parishes and for individuals to consecrate their households are in the Renewal of the Consecration of the United States of America to the Blessed Virgin Mary
worship aid.
At Noon on Friday, Archbishop Etienne will lead this prayer of renewed consecration along with the auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Seattle in Immaculate Conception Church – dedicated to Our Lady as Patroness of the Americas. This prayer service will be
livestreamed on the Archdiocese of Seattle Facebook and Vimeo pages starting at Noon. All parishioners are invited to join this livestream opportunity for collective prayer to Our Lady for her intercession in today’s pandemic. Please forward the worship aid to your fellow parishioners so that they can consecrate their individual home at the appropriate time.
